A ex-representante Marjorie Taylor Greene pediu a remoção do presidente Donald Trump por meio do 25º Emenda da Constituição dos EUA. Ela afirmou: “25TH AMENDMENT!!! Not a single bomb has dropped on America. We cannot kill an entire civilization. This is evil and madness,” em uma postagem no X.
A postagem de Greene incluía uma captura de tela de uma publicação de Trump no Truth Social, onde ele alertou que a “civilização do Irã morrerá esta noite”. Em sua declaração, Trump disse: “Uma civilização inteira morrerá esta noite, nunca mais será trazida de volta. Eu não quero que isso aconteça, mas provavelmente acontecerá”.
Greene, que já foi uma forte aliada de Trump, teve um desentendimento amargo com o presidente no ano passado e se tornou uma crítica vocal do comandante em chefe. Alguns legisladores democratas também pediram a remoção do presidente.
A representante Ilhan Omar, do Minnesota, membro do grupo progressista conhecido como “The Squad”, é uma das que pedem a saída de Trump. Ela escreveu: “Sickeningly evil. Donald Trump must be impeached. When will it be enough for my Republican colleagues to grow spines and remove him from office?”.
O representante Mark Pocan, de Wisconsin, declarou: “25th Amendment RIGHT NOW! Trump is too unhinged, dangerous, and deranged to have the nuclear codes!”. O representante Shri Thanedar, de Michigan, que apresentou artigos de impeachment contra Trump no ano passado, afirmou: “Trump just threatened to slaughter 100 million people. It’s clear he’s unfit to be president, the 25th amendment must be invoked”.
Em uma postagem no Truth Social no domingo de Páscoa, Trump advertiu: “Tuesday will be Power Plant Day, and Bridge Day, all wrapped up in one, in Iran. There will be nothing like it!!! Open the F[—]kin’ Strait, you crazy b——, or you’ll be living in Hell – JUST WATCH! Praise be to Allah.” Omar respondeu, afirmando: “This is not ok. Invoke the 25th amendment. Impeach. Remove. This unhinged lunatic must be removed from office.”.
Greene também declarou em uma postagem no X que o presidente havia “ficado louco”. Ela afirmou: “Everyone in his administration that claims to be a Christian needs to fall on their knees and beg forgiveness from God and stop worshipping the President and intervene in Trump’s madness. I know all of you and him and he has gone insane, and all of you are complicit. This is not making America great again, this is evil.”
